WhatsApp to Stop Working on Some Devices Starting January 1, 2025

WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging app, will no longer be available on devices running the Android KitKat operating system starting January 1, 2025. This means that older devices, released 9 to 10 years ago, will no longer be able to access the app.

Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, stated that this decision is part of its efforts to align the app with modern technology, ensuring better performance, security, and the inclusion of new features for users.

Starting January 1, 2025, WhatsApp will no longer work on the following Android devices:
