Jhelum Valley: candidates submitted their nomination papers for elections of chairman & mayor

Jhelum Valley: (Azadi Times) Dozens of candidates belonging to the ruling party PTI, Muslim League-N, Pakistan Peoples Party have submitted their nomination papers for the elections of chairman, vice chairman, mayor, and deputy mayor of Jhelum Valley district, municipal committee.

 

The alliance between PTI and PML-N in Hattian Bala, belonging to the constituency of former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan, Sajawal Khan of PML-N Mayor Municipal Committee Hattian Bala, Sheikh Mumtaz of PTI unopposed deputy. Mayor Municipal Committee Hattian Bala, Town Committee Chikar, Malik Muhammad Bashir of Muslim League-N was elected unopposed as Chairman and Tariq Rashid Butt were elected unopposed as Vice Chairman of Town Committee Chikar.

 

The alliance established by Shaukat Javed up to the extent of Constituency Seven Jhelum Valley did not last long before both parties jointly nominated Bashir Alam Awan, a member of the District Council elected from Leepa Valley, as the candidate for Vice Chairman of District Council Jhelum Valley.

 

Azim Zahid Advocate nominated as a candidate for the Vice Chairman District Council Jhelum Valley and issued a ticket.

According to the details, on Saturday dozens of candidates for Chairman and Vice Chairman of local bodies from across the Jhelum Valley submitted their nomination papers to the District Council.

PTI’s Khawaja Ahsan Manzoor, Tayyab Manzoor Kayani, Asif Iqbal Mughal, Chaudhry Abdul Jabbar, PML-N’s Raja Aftab Ahmed Khan for the post of Jhelum Valley Chairmanship, PTI’s Chaudhry for the post of Vice Chairman District Council Jhelum Valley.

 

Zahid Fareed, Altaf Gujjar, Khawaja Ahsan, Asif Iqbal, Raja Azim Zahid Advocate of Muslim League-N, and Bashir Alam Awan of Pakistan Peoples Party have submitted their nomination papers to the Returning Officers out of fifteen union councils of Tehsil Hattian Bala and Chikar. Raja Sajjad Khan from Union Council Sadak Chinari unopposed Chairman, Farooq Shah Unopposed Vice Chairman, Union Council Nadjian Chaudhry Ishaq Unopposed Chairman, Chaudhry Nazir Vice Chairman, Union Council Chakhama DSP(R) Abdul Shaid Mughal Unopposed Chairman, Ch. Muhammad Waris Vice Chairman, Union Habibur Rahman Abbasi unopposed Chairman, Vice Chairman Muhammad Ishaq from Council Muknet, Hashmat Chak Unopposed Chairman from Union Council Limnian, Khurshid Ahmed Vice Chairman, Ghazanfar Iqbal Mughal Unopposed Chairman from Union Council Gujar Bandi, Javed Chaudhry Vice Chairman, Union Council Chikar Zaheer Hussain Kayani has been elected as the Chairman and Haji Nazir Hussain as the Vice Chairman of Tehsil Hattian Bala and other Union Councils of Chikar, Langla, Goharabad, Sina Daman, Saran, Pahal, Chakothi, Wadi Khulana, and Salmiya.

There will be a contest between former Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan’s native union council in Salmiya.

 

While refusing to give, they have put up their candidates. The members and political parties have started manipulating to become the chairman, vice chairman of local bodies in the Jhelum Valley district. In this regard, the next few days are very important.
