Modi government removes reference to separate Sikh homeland from syllabus

New Delhi: May 30 (Azadi Times) In an attempt to take away the minority identity of the Sikhs, the Modi government has removed the reference to the demand for Khalistan or a separate Sikh homeland from the curriculum.

According to Kashmir Media Service, references to Sikhs have been removed from the political science textbook for class 12 students for the All India Secondary School Examinations, commonly known as Board Examinations (CBSE).

India The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), which oversees the development of the curriculum, said in an official statement that the last sentence of the third paragraph under the sub-heading “Punjab the Line” “but it is a separate Sikh state”. can also be interpreted as a demand” has been deleted.

In the same section, the last sentence of the fourth paragraph of the sub-heading “Punjab” and the creation of Khalistan” has been deleted. The statement said that the soft copy of the Class XII Political Science textbook has been uploaded on the NCERT website with changes.
