Outrage as Physically Disabled JKNAP Leader Tasleem Arif Arrested Amid Independence Day Controversy

Rawalakot: Comrade Tasleem Arif, a physically disabled leader and member of the Jammu Kashmir National Awami Party (JKNAP), has been arrested by Hajira police.

The arrest follows an incident that occurred during Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations in the town of Jhawara Karas, located in the Poonch district (Pakistan administered Kashmir).

According to reports, on August 14th, some nationalist groups allegedly harassed and shamed individuals celebrating Independence Day, making controversial statements that led to tensions in the area.

As a result of these events, an FIR was registered on August 15th at the Hajeera police station against several individuals, including Comrade Tasleem Arif.

The arrest has sparked significant backlash on social media, where many people have condemned the actions of the police and called for Arif’s immediate release.

Supporters argue that arresting a physically disabled person under these circumstances is unjust and have expressed concerns about the motivations behind the FIR. The situation continues to draw public attention as calls for Arif’s release grow louder.
