Pakistan: Election Commission postponed the Punjab and KPK by Elections

PAKISTAN: The Election Commission of Pakistan has postponed the Punjab and KPK Assembly elections till October.

The Election Commission has issued an official order to postpone the elections, according to which the elections will be held in Punjab on October 8.

 

According to the notification of the Election Commission, IG Punjab informed about the bad situation of law and order, he mentioned the incidents of terrorism referred to and said that it will take 5 months to complete the operation against the terrorists, there is a shortage of 3 lakh 86 thousand 623 personnel in Punjab.

 

According to the Ministry of Interior, the army is responsible for the protection of borders, internal security, important installations, and the security of foreigners.

According to the Election Commission, the Ministry of Interior said that political leaders are on the hit list of terrorists.

 

First, political leaders can be targeted in the election campaign. The notification states that according to the finance ministry, there is a financial crisis in the country, IMF conditions, KP for the government, and funds for the Punjab Assembly elections.

 

It will be difficult to release, for the government of the National Assembly, Sindh, and Balochistan elections will be difficult to release funds, due to the bad economic situation, it will be difficult to provide funds.

 

According to the Election Commission, the election schedule of the Punjab Assembly has been withdrawn and the President has been informed about the decision. The assemblies of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were dissolved, after which caretaker governments were also established in both provinces.

The Supreme Court took notice of the non-announcement of the date of general elections in both provinces.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan ordered to hold the elections in the two provinces within 90 days, after which the Election Commission suggested the dates for the elections in Punjab from April 30 to May 7.

On the other hand, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali has set the date of May 28 for the by-elections in the province
