Muzaffarabad (PID) The Prime Minister of the Independent Government of Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan has said that due to its excellent initiatives, the current government has gained the full support and trust of the people. Tax net will be increased to 1 lakh users by introducing public friendly system. In whatever sector the PTI government started the reforms, the people gave it full appreciation. We are all united with regard to the welfare and development of Azad Kashmir and we all have to play a joint responsible role. Talking about increasing the tax net and making the tax system people-friendly, he said that the current government has increased the number of tax filers from 5 thousand to 37 thousand. At present there are 37 thousand registered taxpayers in Azad Kashmir. He said that we promised the people that we will bring reforms in the tax system. The officers and officials of the Inland Revenue Department have been instructed to have exemplary behavior with the people. There were misunderstandings among the people regarding tax which are being removed, the tax system is being made more simple and people friendly. Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan said that for the convenience of the people, the date of submission of tax returns is being extended till February 27. It is to create awareness among the public that if we are not paying tax, it is a violation of the law. In this regard, there is an ideal system of taxation. In this regard, the efforts of Finance and Inland Revenue Minister Abdul Majid Khan and his team are commendable. He said that the number of tax filers will be taken up to one lakh and will also give a special budget to the department for public awareness in this regard. He said that many lives are lost in accidents every year due to dilapidated vehicles. He will also bring innovation in the transport system. The Prime Minister directed the Income Tax Department to conduct an awareness campaign and explain its usefulness to the people by going door to door to clear the unnecessary confusion among the people regarding taxes in Azad Kashmir. He also announced a reward of 2 crores for the officers who showed the highest level of performance.
