Editorial Standards FAQ
Do you pay contributors?
We offer competitive honorariums for original reporting and commissioned pieces. Rates depend on length, complexity, and exclusivity. Expenses for field reporting are negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Can I submit anonymously?
Yes. We protect confidential sources and can publish under pseudonyms when safety is a concern. For sensitive investigations, we offer Signal/SecureDrop channels.
Who retains copyright?
You retain copyright. We request exclusive publication rights for 30 days, after which you may republish elsewhere with attribution to The Azadi Times.
What about controversial topics?
We do not shy away from controversy, but we demand rigor. All claims must be verifiable. We reject sensationalism, hate speech, and unverified allegations.
Do you accept poetry or fiction?
Occasionally, we publish creative non-fiction, photo essays, and literary journalism. Pure fiction and poetry are generally outside our scope unless tied to reportage.
What if my story is rejected?
Due to volume, we cannot provide detailed feedback on every rejection. However, we encourage resubmission with revised angles or different stories.
