Our Story
The Azadi Times was founded by Atif Maqbool, a passionate Kashmiri advocate for justice, human rights, and the right to self-determination. Recognizing the urgent need for a truly independent and fearless voice, Atif launched The Azadi Times to challenge the state-controlled narratives and provide truthful, unbiased news to the people of Kashmir and beyond. What started as a vision to revive authentic journalism in a region long silenced by censorship has grown into an international news platform. Today, The Azadi Times connects struggles from Kashmir to Palestine, Syria, and Ukraine, bringing stories of resilience, resistance, and hope from across continents. Guided by editorial board of experts and indepdnt journalists, The Azadi Times remains committed to shining a light on the oppressed, standing up for freedom, and preserving the highest standards of journalism — free from political influence and corporate control. Our story is one of courage, conviction, and the unyielding belief that truth can and will prevail.
