The report states that the Afghan provinces of Ghor and Faryab have been particularly affected, with 70 fatalities and numerous individuals reported missing due to the floods.

Additionally, the floods have destroyed over 2,000 houses and damaged another 4,000, forcing a large number of residents to relocate.

An Afghan resident recounted the disaster, saying, “The terrifying floods swept everything away. My family and I evacuated to a safe location after authorities announced the warning through the mosque loudspeaker.”

In Afghanistan’s northern Baghlan province, the death toll from rains and floods has risen to 300.

The province’s Disaster Management Department has declared an emergency.

It is worth noting that last week, floods in Baghlan province claimed 313 lives.
