Muzaffarabad (Azadi Times) A high-level meeting was held to review the law and order situation and security arrangements during the local body elections under the chairmanship of Chief Election Commissioner Azad Jammu and Kashmir Justice Retired Abdul Rasheed Salharia.

In the meeting, Senior Member Election Commission Raja Muhammad Farooq Niaz, Chief Secretary Muhammad Usman Chachar through video link and Principal Secretary Ehsan Khalid Kayani, Inspector General Police Dr. Ameer Ahmad Sheikh, Secretary Services and General Administration Raja Amjad Parvez Ali Khan, Senior Additional Secretary Finance Rashid Hanif, Senior Additional Secretary Law Raja Zahid Mehmood, Secretary Election Commission Muhammad Ghazanfar Khan, Director General Local Government and Rural Development Shabir Ahmed Abbasi, Special Secretary Interior Hameed Mughal, DIG Police Arfan Masood Kashfi and Director Information Amjad Hussain Minhas and others attended In the meeting, various suggestions regarding security arrangements were taken into consideration.

It was decided in the meeting that coordination and peace committees will be formed to maintain law and order situation at the polling stations during the local elections, which will include civil servants, representatives of all political parties and local dignitaries.

In the meeting, Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, IG Police, Secretary Services and Special Secretary Interior gave a briefing and assured the government’s full cooperation on other issues including the provision of security forces during the local elections.

It was fully assured that the security forces will be provided and the elections will be held on 27th November as scheduled. will be given On behalf of the Election Commission, the government was asked to inform the government about security forces and other matters in the meeting held on November 21.

In the meeting, Chief Election Commissioner Justice Retired Abdul Rasheed Salharia directed that on November 27, the holding of the local government will be ensured in every possible way, the government should ensure the provision of security forces in any case.
