Barrister Adnan Nawaz vs Azad Govt” Appeal dismissed with a fine of 1 Lakh


MUZAFFARABAD – Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has dismissed the application in the case titled Barrister Adnan Nawaz vs. Azad Government and others with a fine of one lakh. The fine amount has been ordered to be deposited in the Bar Council Foundation Relief Fund within a week:

Azadi Times – According to the details, Barrister Adnan Nawaz had filed an appeal in the Supreme Court against the decision of the Supreme Court on May 16, 2022. The application for permission to appeal was presented for hearing in the court comprising Justice Younis Tahir, honorable judge of the Supreme Court. 

The Supreme Court issued more than one notice for hearing to the petitioner. The date of hearing was fixed on July 28, 2022, but despite complying with the notice, Barrister Adnan Nawaz Advocate did not appear in the Supreme Court. 

On which the Supreme Court gave a brief decision in the light of the record. The Supreme Court declared that the decision of the High Court on May 16, 2022 is in accordance with the law in which there is no room for interference someone no point of law has been raised on the basis of which the application for leave to appeal should be accepted, therefore, finding the application for leave to appeal weightless, the preacher is dismissed with a fine of one lakh rupees. 

Petitioner Barrister Adnan Nawaz Advocate should deposit this fine amount in the Bar Council Foundation Relief Fund. A separate notice was issued to Barrister Adnan Nawaz to deposit the fine amount. It may be remembered that Barrister Adnan Nawaz Advocate had challenged the appointments of honorable judges of the Supreme Court in the High Court and the High Court dismissed the writ petition filed by him on May 16, 2022. 

Earlier yesterday, Barrister Adnan Nawaz had filed an application in the Supreme Court and had taken a stand that he does not have confidence in the Supreme Court of Justice Younis Tahir and the trial of the case should be assigned to another bench. Chief Justice of Azad Jammu and Kashmir finding this request of Barrister Adnan Nawaz weightless.
