Iqbal Day Celebration in PGC College Rawalakot (Kharik), competitions among female students

Rawalakot (Azadi Times) On the occasion of the birth anniversary of poet Allama Iqbal, Sardar Bahadur Ali Khan Government Post Graduate Girls College Kharak, Rawalakot organized a ceremony regarding Iqbal Day.

Dr. Prof. Muhammad Sagheer Khan Principal Model Science College Rawalakot was the chief guest of the ceremony . In the ceremony, various competitions were held regarding poet Allama Iqbal, which included Bait Bazi, Queens and Kalam Iqbal competitions, in which Captain Hussain Khan Shaheed Government Post Graduate Boys College Rawalkot, Sardar The students of Bahadur Ali Khan Government Post Graduate Girls College Kharak Rawalkot and Government Inter Science College Lahban participated in Bait Bazi.

Post Graduate Girls College Kharak Rawalkot won the quiz competition and bagged the trophy. In Kalam Iqbal, Laiba Salim and Shamsa Adil from Government Inter-Science College Lakban got the first position, Dhofshan from Government Post Graduate Girls College Kharak got second position and Ayeza Azim from Government Girls Inter College Darek got the third position.

Allama Iqbal’s famous poem “Iblis Ki Majlis Shoora” was presented as a drama and reflected Iqbal’s theory of politics among the students and captivated the audience with his beautiful acting.

Dr. Abdul Rahman (Head of the Department of Islamic Studies, Poonch University) and Muhammad Adnan (MBA Finance, former Director of Aghosh-ul-Khidmat Foundation, Rawalakot) performed the ceremony.

Dr. Prof. Muhammad Sagheer Khan, Principal of the College, Dr. Prof. Uzma Begum were the chief guests of the ceremony. Vice Principal Associate Professor Ghulam Shahnaz, Professor Ayesha Yusuf (Department of Urdu) spoke. Assistant Professor Afshan Tahir performed the duties of the stage secretary while Assistant Professor Naima Mir Akbar performed the duties of host in the quiz competitions.

Principal. Dr. Professor Uzma Begum in the opening remarks Explained the details regarding the program and thanked all those friends, especially the staff members and students from other colleges. Vice Principal Associate Professor Ghulam Shahnaz read the paper about Iqbal’s personality and the different aspects of Iqbal’s personality.

Professor Ayesha Yusuf (Department of Urdu) spoke about the importance of Iqbal Day in her address and said that to understand the personality of Iqbal we have to study the works of Iqbal and the material written on Allama Iqbal himself urged the students to inculcate a love of study in themselves.

Special guest Dr. Prof. Muhammad Sagheer Khan in his address discussed in detail about Iqbal’s love for Kashmir and his poetry on Kashmir with reference to “Allama Iqbal and Kashmir”.

He emphasized on the students that to understand the personality of Iqbal, it is very important to study his poetry written on various topics. The Kashmiris themselves were aware of Allama Iqbal that Sheikh Abdullah had memorized his entire speech by word of mouth.
