Palandri: (Azadi Times) 08 September 2022 The meeting of the Board of Governors of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Press Foundation was held on Thursday in Palindri under the chairmanship of Chairman Press Foundation, Azad Jammu and Kashmir High Court Justice Sardar Liaquat. Azadi Times reported.

Vice Chairman Press Foundation Syed Abrar Haider, Additional Secretary Finance Kashif Niaz, Director General Information Raja Azhar Iqbal, and other members of the Board of Governors attended the meeting. On this occasion, Director General Information Raja Azhar Iqbal briefed the meeting regarding the agenda.

In the meeting, a 05-member committee was formed under the chairmanship of Director General Information regarding the housing society and the problems faced in it. The members of the committee will include Additional Secretary Finance, Director General Information, Vice Chairman Press Foundation, and two other members. The committee will prepare a draft of the proposed amendments and submit it to the Chairman Press Foundation for approval.

In the meeting, the proposed amount of increase in financial incentives was approved, and the increase in death claims was approved, on this occasion, AKNS President and General Secretary were given membership in the Board of Governors, and AKNS was also decided to draft an amendment to include all the members of the Press Foundation in the Act and to include the definition of “non-member” in the Act so that the procedure for granting privileges to those who are not members of the Press Foundation was decided. can be done Apart from this, the meeting also decided that the Board of Governors should be authorized to give special privileges to the journalists who have professional services and can decide on their own in this regard.

It was also decided to amend the Act for this purpose. In the meeting, an investment committee was also formed for the investment of Press Foundation funds, which will present a detailed report regarding the proper investment of the funds and the profit from it. Regarding the registration of press clubs in the district, tehsil, and others, it was decided that the registration of the district and tehsil press clubs will be as per the previous rules. On this occasion, a report regarding the land of the local journalist colony was also presented and decided.

It was said that press club buildings and press foundation plazas will be constructed at each district and tehsil level. It was decided in the meeting that the age limit for working journalists will be 60 years instead of 65 years. It was decided in the meeting that medical colleges Two in cadet colleges, one in engineering colleges, one set will be reserved for children of journalists, free treatment for journalists and their families in all government hospitals, stipend for children of journalists studying in universities and post-graduate colleges. 60,000 has been fixed, in the meeting Chairman Azad Jammu and Kashmir Press Foundation meetings will be held in each district so that the problems related to the press can be solved on a priority basis.
