11 May Prisoners Released Following JKAAC Negotiations With AJK Govt

Mirpur: Two political detainees from Mirpur Azad Kashmir (Pakistan administered Kaahmir), Madam Naseern Malik and said Sakib, have been unconditionally released after negotiations with the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Their detainment stemmed from their involvement in the May 11 incident in Azad Kashmir (Pakitan administered), marking a significant juncture as it signals the first instance of a woman enduring an extended period of incarceration as a political prisoner in the region.

The successful negotiations mediated by the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JKAAC) underscore a concerted effort towards conflict resolution and reconciliation.
