Accused SHO Imran Chaudhry Files Petition Against AJK Police Officials

Mirpur: Accused SHO Imran Chaudhry has filed a petition seeking contempt of court proceedings against several police officials. The petition was submitted to the District Criminal Court in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, by Inspector Imran Ahmed, targeting SHO Thothal, SSP Mirpur, and DIG Mirpur.

According to the petition, Inspector Imran Ahmed has alleged that a baseless FIR was registered against him on February 25, 2025, under sections 342, 506, 509 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and ZHA-18. The petitioner claims that despite obtaining pre-arrest bail from the court, he was arrested, which constitutes a serious violation of judicial orders.

The petition further states that the initial FIR was filed with malicious intent, including the addition of Section ZHA-18. When the court granted pre-arrest bail on February 26, 2025, and scheduled the next hearing for March 4, 2025, the petitioner was arrested again under an additional charge of Section 354 PPC.

The petitioner argues that this action blatantly disregards court orders and amounts to contempt of court. He has urged the court to initiate contempt proceedings against the concerned police officials for undermining judicial authority.
