A 10-year plan for generation of cheap electricity has been sent to Nepra for approval, which has been confirmed by Nepra.

According to the announcement, Nepra will hear on October 19 on the long-term plan for cheap electricity, the proposals of the provincial governments have also been included in the plan.

The proposed plan also proposes to close 11 furnace oil and 5 imported LNG power plants.

The proposed plan also includes the proposal to close 3 more gas-fired power plants of 682 MW.

Two furnace oil and two imported LNG plants of K Electric have also been proposed to be closed, while 4,320 MW of net metering is estimated to be added to the system.
