Overview
Jammu Kashmir National Students Federation (JKNSF) is the oldest progressive student organization in Pakistan-administered Kashmir (Azad Jammu & Kashmir), founded in 1966. It advocates for student rights and an independent, socialist Kashmir free from both Indian and Pakistani control.

Established on September 22, 1966 by left-wing Kashmiri students, JKNSF initially focused on educational issues before adopting a pro-independence political stance. Its first president was Mumtaz Hussain Rathore, who later became Prime Minister of AJK. The organization played a key role in establishing the Jammu Kashmir National Awami Party (JKNAP) in 1995.
