Family and political groups express alarm as reports suggest the detained leader is receiving medical treatment in Islamabad amid restricted access.
Concerns are mounting over the health and well-being of detained Kashmiri leader Shaukat Nawaz Mir, following unverified reports regarding his medical condition.
Mir was arrested on June 30, 2026, in the Dhirkot area. Since his detention, there has been ongoing ambiguity surrounding his exact whereabouts and physical condition. According to recent reports, Mir is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Islamabad due to deteriorating health. However, authorities in Islamabad and local officials have not yet issued a clear, official response regarding his condition or exact location.
Family members, including his wife, children, and sisters, have reportedly faced restrictions in accessing him, raising further questions among supporters and rights advocates.
Various political and social figures, alongside the Awami Action Committee, have expressed deep concern over Mir’s ongoing detention and health status. Community leaders have called on the authorities to immediately clarify his whereabouts, ensure his safety, and grant his family proper access. Meanwhile, supporters across the region have appealed for prayers for his recovery.
