Overview

Jammu Kashmir Students Liberation Front (JKSLF) is the student wing of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), established on April 17, 1987 in Karachi, Pakistan. It advocates for the independence and reunification of Jammu and Kashmir through student activism and political mobilization.

History

Founded by Kashmiri students inspired by Maqbool Bhat's ideology, JKSLF emerged as a frontline organization in the Kashmiri independence movement. It played significant roles in political movements throughout the 1990s and 2000s, including participation in Line of Control (LoC) crossing attempts. In a notable 1992 incident, several JKSLF activists were killed during an LoC crossing protest.

Organizational Structure

JKSLF organizes student protests, awareness campaigns, and political rallies. It publishes political literature and participates in international forums on Kashmir. The front has been actively involved in JKLF's LoC marches and diplomatic initiatives.

Legacy

JKSLF has mobilized generations of Kashmiri students toward political awareness and nationalist activism. Many alumni have assumed important roles in Kashmiri politics and civil society. The organization is recognized for its grassroots activism and student empowerment initiatives.
