Azad Jammu Kashmir Investment Conference 2022 held in Muzaffarabad, full participation of investors

Organized by the Department of Industries, Libro Natural Resources and participation of Lyle Warrior’s delegation at the investment conference.

On this occasion, top Azad Kashmir (AJK) officials including Secretary Information Ms. Mudhat Shehzad, Secretary Industries and Mineral Resources Wajahat Rasheed Baig, Secretary Electronics Chaudhry Muhammad Tayyab, Director General Tourism Tehsib al-Nisa, Sahibzada Zulfikar Alam from Local Government Board, Director University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Dr. Khawaja Ansar Yasin, Conservator Forest Department.

Syed Gul Hussain Shah, Director General Livestock Dr Muhammad Ijaz Khan, Director General Agriculture Tariq Mehmood Bande, Director Teuta Anam Abbasi, Raja Waseem Afzal, Khawaja Muhammad Owais also gave a detailed briefing regarding their respective departments.

On this occasion, Minister of Industries and Crafts Muhammad Maqbool Gujjar, Secretary to the Government, Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce, delegation of Lyle Warriors, Senior Member Board of Investment Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Parvez Ahmad Waraich also participated.

Addressing the investment conference, Finance Minister Abdul Majid Khan said that there are vast investment opportunities in Azad Kashmir, in which the sectors of tourism, mineral resources and hydel power are noteworthy.

Azad Kashmir is a great place for investors politically, economically and socially, it has the world’s best ruby, beautiful tourist destination, excellent road infrastructure here you have the facility of electricity and messengers even in remote areas.

Azad Kashmir government has provided all the basic facilities for its people. Azad Kashmir is the first line of defense of Pakistan which is being guarded by Kashmiri people along with Pakistan Army and we have to work together for its development.

Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Sialkot Chamber of Commerce have a large number of Kashmiris which is a clear proof that there is potential for investment in the people here.

The government of Azad Kashmir will provide all kinds of facilities to those who invest here. And it will provide the best opportunities in the industrial sector. Legislation is also being made in this regard.

We have decided to work together with all the people to provide employment opportunities to the people here. About 80 branches of Bank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir have been opened in remote areas and are developing world class software and also launching Islamic banking which is a great opportunity for investors.

The earthquake of 2005 devastated Azad Kashmir, but this region is going through these natural disasters and is progressing again. Minister of Industry and Crafts Chaudhry Maqbool Gujjar, while addressing the business conference, said that for investment in Azad Kashmir, There are many opportunities.

He said that the government of Azad Kashmir is taking all possible steps to facilitate the investors. He has said that we have seven industrial states in Azad Kashmir in which there is scope for all kinds of industries.

Chaudhry Maqbool Gujjar said that the government is ready to provide all kinds of support to the investors. Chairman Lyle Warrior Taseer Akram Rana finally thanked the delegation and the organizers and said that we have a close relationship with Kashmir. Our relation with Kashmir is to the extent of soul. He said that they will make Kashmir economically strong.

He said that he will take all possible steps to stabilize Azad Kashmir economically. He said that Azad Kashmir is a suitable place for investment. Inshallah, making Azad region economically strong and providing employment opportunities to people will be our first priority.

On this occasion, Secretary Industries and Crafts Wajahat Rashid Baig gave a detailed briefing to the participants with reference to the Department of Industries and Crafts. Secretary Information and IT Ms. Mudhat Shahzad said that if investment is made in Azad Kashmir, it can become a model state.

Azad Kashmir has the highest indicators of sustainable development at the national level, where the literacy rate is higher than all the provinces of Pakistan. 3800 graduates are being produced annually in the IT sector. And 60% of the population has internet access. There is a need for private investment to provide employment opportunities to people.

While giving a briefing with reference to the IT department, he said that we have started work on Kashmir Bazaar under which cultural products from here will be sold worldwide, issuance of computerized driving license, 24 hours in remote areas.

Setting up of 13 telemedicine centers to deliver health services, digital payment through PayPro, and e-facilitation center are the best initiatives of the Government of Azad Kashmir in terms of digital governance.

DG Tourism Azad Kashmir (AJK) Ms. Tehsib al-Nisa also gave a detailed briefing with reference to her department. He said that tourism has a huge potential in Azad Kashmir, in which historical, religious, adventure and water tourism are on top. 6% of people are employed in tourism and so far 70 lakh tourists have visited Azad Kashmir.

The hospitality of the people here, beautiful valleys, mountains, lakes and the presence of the land in terms of tourism make it an ideal place for investors.

Under the auspices of the Government of Azad Kashmir, work is being done to make Azad Kashmir the best tourist destination. For which there are great opportunities for starting air service, ecotourism and public private partnership.
