Jammu, June 6 (Azadi Times) Mughal Road, a vital link connecting the twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri in the Jammu region with Shopian district in the Kashmir Valley, has been closed for traffic once again due to landslides in Poonch district.

The road was closed on June 6, 2023, after a landslide occurred at Ratta Chhamb in the Srankot area of Poonch district. Hundreds of vehicles are stuck on the road on both sides of the landslide site.

Officials said that the road was opened for one-way traffic from June 5, 2023, and two-way traffic was allowed from June 6, 2023, but it was closed again on June 6, 2023, after the landslide occurred.

Officials said that personnel and machinery are working to remove debris from the road and clearance may take some time.

The Mughal Road is an important link for the people of the Poonch and Rajouri districts, as it provides them with an alternate route to reach the Kashmir Valley. The closure of the road will cause inconvenience to the people of these districts.

The Indian government has been criticized for its failure to maintain the Mughal Road. The road has been closed several times in the past due to landslides and other reasons.

The closure of the Mughal Road is a reminder of the poor infrastructure in Indian-Occupied Kashmir. The Indian government has done little to improve the infrastructure in the region, which has made it difficult for the people of Kashmir to lead a normal life.
