Azad Kashmir: Polling Begins for By-Elections in LA-15 Bagh

Bagh: (Azadi Times) Polling began on Tuesday for the by-elections in the Legislative Assembly Constituency LA-15 Bagh-2 of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The polling will continue till 5 pm without a break. The seat was vacated as a result of disqualification in the court decision.

A total of 18 candidates are participating in the by-elections in the constituency. A tough competition is expected between Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Colonel Zameer, People’s Party’s Zia Qamar, and Muslim League-N’s Mushtaq Minhas.

The total number of votes in the constituency is one lakh one thousand 145, in which the number of male votes is 53 thousand 107 and the number of female votes is 48 thousand 38.

During the last election in Bagh 2 LA 15, PPP candidate Sardar Zia Qamar was second with 14 thousand 781 votes while Muslim League-N’s Mushtaq Minhas was third with 11 thousand 215 votes. Tehreek-e-Insaf’s candidate Colonel Zameer was successful with 10,000 votes.

189 polling stations have been established in the Bagh constituency, 59 polling stations for men, 57 polling stations for women, and 73 joint polling stations have been established.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the by-elections. The security forces have also been deployed to ensure law and order.

The results of the by-elections are expected to be announced later in the day.
