WAPDA Funds Educational Expenses for 10 Students from Diamer for Admission to Cadet College Tarbela

Chilas: WAPDA (Water and Power Development Authority) has funded the admission and educational expenses of 10 selected students from Diamer to Cadet College Tarbela. This initiative is part of the Diamer Bhasha Dam Project’s efforts to support local education.

According to a spokesperson from the Diamer Bhasha Dam Project, WAPDA has covered the entire first-year educational costs for these students, including tuition fees, boarding, lodging, and other essential academic facilities. The total amount paid for the expenses exceeds 60 million Pakistani rupees.

The scholarships for these 10 students were specifically allocated to Diamer students at Cadet College Tarbela, as per the special directive of WAPDA Chairman, Engineer Lieutenant General (Retd.) Sajjad Ghani. These students were selected for the eighth-grade scholarship program through a merit-based process involving tests and interviews conducted by the college. The regular classes for these students will begin on April 12, 2025.

Additionally, the spokesperson mentioned that WAPDA is progressing with various other projects aimed at improving educational infrastructure, such as the construction of new government schools in the reservoir area.
