Occupying Authorities Cut Off Electricity in Srinagar After Protests Against Smart Meters

Srinagar, July 25 (Azadi Times): The occupying authorities in the illegally occupied Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on Tuesday cut off electricity in the Batamaloo area of Srinagar city after people protested against the installation of smart meters in the area.

A large number of people came out on the streets in Batamaloo and prevented the electricity department officials from installing smart meters in the area. The local people said that the occupying authorities cut off the electricity in the area in response and the area has been deprived of electricity since morning.

People said that immediately after the protest, the electricity was cut off. The consumers of Srinagar city are protesting against the Kashmir Power Distribution Company Limited (KPDCL) and there are protests against the installation of smart meters in all areas of the city. However, the occupying authorities did not miss the tussle and continued with the installation of smart meters.

A woman protester said that no one is ready to listen to us. The protesters who blocked traffic near the bus stand in Batamaloo said that the occupying authorities are enjoying themselves by sucking the blood of people out of poverty.

The protesters said that the smart meters are a way for the occupying authorities to further exploit the people of IIOJK. They said that the smart meters will not only increase the electricity bills but will also invade the privacy of the people.

The protesters demanded that the occupying authorities immediately withdraw the decision to install smart meters in IIOJK.

Here are some of the arguments of protestors against smart meters:

  • Smart meters can increase anxiety in elderly or low-income households if they are constantly reminded of their energy use.
  • Smart meters can be hacked, which could lead to unauthorized access to personal information or the ability to manipulate energy usage data.
  • Smart meters can be used to track energy usage, which some people believe could be used to discriminate against certain groups of people.

The protests in Srinagar are the latest in a series of protests against smart meters in IIOJK. In recent months, there have been protests in several other cities in the region, including Jammu, Kupwara, and Pulwama. The protesters have raised a number of concerns about smart meters, including the increased cost of electricity, the invasion of privacy, and the potential for hacking.

The occupying authorities have defended the use of smart meters, saying that they will help to improve the efficiency of the electricity grid and reduce energy losses. However, the protesters have rejected these claims, saying that the smart meters are nothing more than a way for the occupying authorities to further exploit the people of IIOJK.

It remains to be seen whether the protests will force the occupying authorities to withdraw the decision to install smart meters in IIOJK. However, the protests have certainly raised awareness of the concerns that many people have about smart meters.

Mirpur DHQ Hospital Gynae Ward Becomes Death Trap

    0

Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, July 22 (Azadi Times) – The Gynae ward of the DHQ Hospital in Mirpur has become a death trap due to negligence and incompetence of the staff.

Qaiser Ali Khan, a security guard at the Mirpur University, complained that his daughter was born at the hospital on the day of intense heat, but there was no fan available in the ward. He had to arrange for a stand fan from the house of a friend.

After the birth, the staff administered one after another dose of medication and protective injections. Qaiser Ali Khan told the staff not to give his daughter two injections at the same time, but they did not listen. As a result, his daughter developed an infection.

The staff put oxygen on the child and informed Qaiser Ali Khan of the emergency. However, there was no senior doctor or staff available in the ward at that time. All the staff were students.

Qaiser Ali Khan further stated that during this period, he bought medicines worth Rs. 35,000 from outside and gave them to the hospital staff so that his daughter could be treated. Before delivery, he had already arranged for medicines worth Rs. 15,000 to be provided to the staff.

When Qaiser Ali Khan became convinced that his daughter’s condition was not improving, he took her to a famous private hospital in Mirpur, where the relevant doctor provided excellent treatment. The child had jaundice and was kept in the private hospital for one day. She was brought home the next day and is now healthy.

Qaiser Ali Khan stated that the Gynae department of the government hospital in Mirpur has become a death trap. It has become a den of politics.

The staff is working, but there is no proper care being given. The people of Mirpur are suffering here. Inexperienced doctors have turned the Gynae ward into an experimental lab.

If the people of Mirpur do not unite and think about it, no child in the Gynae ward will be healthy.

    0

Muzaffarabad, July 21 (Azadi Times, News Desk): Razia Sultana, daughter of Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, has warned Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he will be responsible if anything happens to her father.

Speaking at a meeting of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Friday, Razia Sultana said that her father is a symbol of struggle and has been fighting for the freedom of Kashmir for many years. She said that she met her father when she was only two years old and has not seen him since.

Razia Sultana said that Modi has illegally imprisoned her father and has made false cases against him. She said that the Indian government has turned Kashmir into a military cantonment and is doing everything it can to suppress the Kashmiri people’s struggle for freedom.

Razia Sultana said that she will continue to fight for her father’s release and for the freedom of Kashmir. She urged all international organizations, including the United Nations, to help secure her father’s release.

Razia Sultana’s speech comes at a time when the situation in Kashmir is very tense. There have been widespread protests against Indian rule in recent months, and the Indian government has responded with a heavy-handed crackdown.

Razia Sultana’s speech is a reminder of the human cost of the conflict in Kashmir. Her father, Yasin Malik, is one of many Kashmiris who have been imprisoned for their activism. His case is a symbol of the Indian government’s repressive policies in Kashmir.

It remains to be seen how the Indian government will respond to Razia Sultana’s speech. However, it is clear that the situation in Kashmir is very volatile. The Indian government needs to take steps to address the legitimate demands of the Kashmiri people, or the conflict could escalate further.

Starlink Satellites Spotted in Mirpur Azad Kashmir

      0

MIPUR AZAD KASHMIR: A line of bright lights resembling stars has been spotted in the sky over Mirpur Azad Kashmir, sparking a frenzy of speculation about the unusual phenomenon. However, it has now been revealed that these lights are actually a part of an experimental project launched by SpaceX, the company founded by Elon Musk.

The lights in question are none other than the Starlink satellites, a network of 360 satellites launched by SpaceX in order to provide high-speed internet access to remote areas around the world.

The Starlink project aims to ensure that internet speeds are not affected by factors such as location, terrain, or other obstacles that can hamper internet connectivity.

The Starlink satellites have been designed to work in low Earth orbit, which means that they are visible from the ground as a line of bright lights moving across the sky.

These lights are not to be mistaken for traditional stars or other celestial objects, as they are man-made and part of a cutting-edge technology that has been developed by SpaceX.

The Starlink project is still in its experimental phase, with the company working to improve the technology and make it more widely available to users around the world. Despite some concerns about the potential impact of such satellite networks on astronomy and the environment, SpaceX has continued to push ahead with its ambitious plans for the Starlink project.

As we look towards the future, it seems inevitable that our reliance on high-speed internet connectivity will only continue to grow. With the Starlink project, SpaceX is at the forefront of the effort to make high-speed internet access available to all, regardless of their location or circumstances.

Thsighting of the Starlink satellites in Mirpur Azad Kashmir has sparked a lot of interest in the project, and it is likely that we will see more and more people spotting these satellites in the sky in the years to come.

Zalzal Lake: A Hidden Gem Worth Protecting

Nestled in the Chikar, Azad Jammu Kashmir lies a hidden gem that is both a natural wonder and a testament to the resilience of nature.

Zalzal Lake was formed in 2005 after a devastating earthquake, and has since become a haven for tourists seeking to bask in the beauty of its crystal-clear waters and lush surroundings. However, this natural treasure is facing serious threats that could irreparably damage its fragile ecosystem.

The construction of a road near the lake has increased pollution levels, and the lake is being used as a dumping ground for waste. This pollution not only threatens the health of the lake’s wildlife, but also the safety of visitors who come to enjoy its beauty. Despite these challenges, there are steps that can be taken to protect Zalzal Lake and preserve its natural beauty for generations to come.

One of the most important steps is to ban the dumping of waste in the lake. This will help to reduce pollution levels and ensure that the lake remains a safe and healthy environment for both wildlife and visitors. Additionally, increasing monitoring of the lake’s water quality and promoting sustainable tourism practices in the area can help to reduce the impact of human activity on this fragile ecosystem.

As visitors, we also have a responsibility to protect Zalzal Lake. By learning about the threats facing the lake and taking steps to reduce our own impact on its ecosystem, we can help to preserve this natural wonder for future generations.

Whether it’s through responsible tourism practices or supporting organizations working to protect the lake, we all have a role to play in protecting this hidden gem.

In the end, it’s up to all of us to preserve the beauty of Zalzal Lake. By taking action now, we can ensure that this natural wonder remains a source of inspiration and a testament to the resilience of nature for years to come.

So the next time you plan a trip to the Kashmir Valley, don’t miss the opportunity to visit Zalzal Lake and experience its natural beauty for yourself.

Kashmiri Wanderers Discover Mysterious Rock Formations in Kashti Village

Kashmiri travelers on a journey from Mirpur to the Kishanganga Valley recently made a fascinating discovery in the village of Kashti.

While passing through the Ashkot Bandi area, they noticed some strange and unusual sights on the rocks across the river from the village.

The travelers, Sajid Manan Gurezi and Jamwal Sahib, crossed the river and investigated the rocks. They found an oven-like structure inside a large rock, as well as two large stone pots. The locals told them that the name of the village of Kashti is derived from the name of Kashi Dev, a Hindu god. However, the travelers believe that the structures may have been built by Maharaja Lalitaditya, a Hindu king who ruled Kashmir in the 8th century.

The travelers were impressed by the young policeman’s ethics and they are grateful for his help.

They are also excited to share their discovery with the world and they hope that others will be able to visit the village of Kashti and see the mysterious rock formations for themselves.
