Awami Action Committee Dadyal Announces Protest Plans

Dadyal: The Awami Action Committee in Dadyal convened a meeting on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at a private hotel where committee members deliberated on various issues and announced their protest agenda.

Following the meeting, Raja Habib ur Rahman, the spokesperson for the People’s Action Committee in Dadyal, issued a statement highlighting the committee’s determination to address key concerns affecting the community.

Rahman stated that the Awami Action Committee in Dadyal is committed to organizing a massive demonstration on March 5, 2024, to protest against corruption and demand affordable electricity and flour. The protest aims to showcase unity and solidarity among the residents while advocating for their rights.

He emphasized that the protest would include widespread participation, with residents actively engaging in demonstrations and boycotting electricity consumption. The committee plans to organize processions and rallies, culminating in a gathering at the renowned Martyr Bhatti Chowk at 10:00 AM on March 5.

Furthermore, Rahman announced that if the government fails to fulfill their demands by March 4, the committee will relocate the protest to another location on March 5. He warned that if their legitimate and fundamental demands are not met, they will escalate the protest further.

The Awami Action Committee in Dadyal also revealed plans to establish committees at the sectoral and regional levels to ensure the effective implementation of their protest activities. These committees will be responsible for organizing and coordinating protests in their respective areas.

The announcement underscores the determination of the people of Dadyal to address longstanding grievances and hold authorities accountable for their actions. It reflects a grassroots movement aimed at achieving social and economic justice for the community.
