Neelum: An image showing an Indian fighter jet flying near the Line of Control (LoC), dividing Pakistani and Indian-administered Kashmir, has gone viral on social media in the last two days. Social media users are sharing their reactions and comments about the image.
The photograph was posted by Amiruddin Mughal, a journalist from the Neelum Valley in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, on his Facebook and X (Twitter) accounts. The image captured a unique scene: after the fighter jet flew near the LoC, the heat from the engine caused a white streak and a circle to form in the clouds, resembling steam.
In his tweet, Amiruddin Mughal wrote: “On January 10, 2025, above the Neelum Valley, near the LoC, after an Indian fighter jet circled over Bumla and Shaheen Top, a steam design appeared. The Indian jet appeared and vanished in seconds.”
This tweet was reposted by renowned Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir, who wrote in English: “Maybe Republic Day exercise.”
Social media users have shared various comments in response to the tweet, with some questioning whether the flight violated the LoC. In response to these concerns, Amiruddin Mughal clarified in a follow-up tweet that the Indian jet was flying near Bumla Top, which is under Indian control and was on the other side of the LoC. He confirmed that various sources had verified this information, and emphasized that his initial tweet did not suggest a violation of the LoC.
“On January 10, for a few seconds, the Indian fighter jet observed from the Neelum Valley was flying over Indian-controlled Bumla Top, just beyond the LoC,” Mughal tweeted. “Various sources have confirmed this. The impression given by some circles that it violated the LoC is not accurate.”
