The international community, especially the European Union, should take steps to stop India's atrocities on Kashmiris, speakers

Brussels (KPI) Speakers of a conference held in the European Parliament on the issue of Kashmir have called on the international community, especially the European Union, to play its role in ending human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir. Organized by the UK, the conference was organized in the European Headquarters Brussels during the ongoing events in connection with “Kashmir EU Week”. During the conference, international affairs experts, scholars, intellectuals, students and media personalities European intellectual and writer Andre Barks admitted that the European authorities have not treated the oppressed Kashmiris under Indian rule. He said that European officials should raise their voice for the rights of Kashmiris in the same way as the European authorities are speaking about the issue of Ukraine. He praised the ongoing efforts of Kashmir Council EU in Europe to highlight the human rights of Kashmiris. Among the other speakers of the conference, Chairman Kashmir Council EU Ali Raza Syed, President of World Kashmir Diaspora Alliance Europe Chaudhry Khalid Mehmood Joshi, a Pakistani intellectual based in Belgium. Rao Mustab was also involved. The speakers expressed serious concern over the ongoing Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir and demanded an end to the atrocities and to give the Kashmiris their right to self-determination. Release all political prisoners, end their state terrorism and take steps to withdraw the occupying forces from Occupied Kashmir. Ali Raza Syed said that the aim of the conference is to highlight the issue of Kashmir more and more in Europe. He urged the international community. Specially appealed to the European Union to put pressure on India to immediately stop the crimes of the Indian forces against the people of Occupied Kashmir and to give Kashmiris their right to self-determination according to the United Nations resolutions. He said that for more than seven decades. The people of Occupied Kashmir are facing endless problems which are increasing day by day. It is the duty of the international community, including the European Union, to take immediate steps to stop atrocities on Kashmiris so that Kashmiris can exercise their right to self-determination in a peaceful environment according to their wishes and under the resolutions of the United Nations.
