Even in 2022, killing of innocent people and unjustified arrests continued in Jammu Kashmir, LFK

SRINAGAR: December 31 (Azadi Times Legal Forum for Kashmir (LFK) has highlighted the human rights situation in India’s illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir in one of its reports.

According to Azadi Times, LFK A press release issued by the agency said that the agency has covered the period from January to December 2022 in its annual report on the occupied territory. The report said that like in previous years, the bloodshed of innocent people and unjustified arrests of human rights defenders and other people continued in the occupied area in 2022.

A strict ban on all media coverage in the area remained in place and human rights organizations and the media were prevented from working freely. The report said that India had increased its military deployment in the occupied territory and more than 130,000 people were killed. Mobilized more police personnel against Kashmiris and activated more investigative agencies like the State Investigation Agency (SIA) and the Special Investigation Unit (SIU). Killed.

 

Indian troops conducted 200 cordon and search operations during which 212 residential houses were destroyed and 169 incidents of internet shutdown. In January 2022, thousands of acres of land in the tourist destinations of Gulmarg and Sonmarg in Occupied Kashmir were ‘strategic areas’. It was declared and given to the Indian Army. Prominent freedom fighter Altaf Ahmed Shah died in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail while battling kidney cancer. At least 40 Kashmiri employees were dismissed from their jobs by the occupying Indian administration.

Kashmiri Muslims were continuously deprived of Friday prayers, dozens of imams and preachers were harassed and UAPA was launched against many of them. And cases were filed under black laws like PSA. India gave voting rights to all Indian citizens temporarily living in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir with the sole purpose of changing the population ratio in the Occupied Territory.
