In 2018, Gandapur assumed the role of Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan. His tenure was characterized by proactive measures aimed at addressing the region’s longstanding issues. He advocated for making Gilgit-Baltistan a province, initiated crucial dam projects in AJK and GB, and championed the cause of Kashmir in alignment with the aspirations of the local populace.
