Iran Warns European Countries Could Become ‘Legitimate Targets’ if They Join US or Israel in Conflict
Iran has warned that European countries could become “legitimate targets” if they join the United States or Israel in military actions against the country, according to remarks by Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi.
Speaking in an interview with France 24, Takht-Ravanchi said Tehran has already conveyed its message to European governments, urging them to stay out of what it described as an ongoing war of aggression.
“We have already informed the Europeans and everybody else that they should be careful not to be involved in this war of aggression,” he said.

His comments come amid rising tensions in the Middle East and growing international concern that the confrontation could expand into a wider regional or even global conflict.
Warning of Possible Retaliation
Takht-Ravanchi stressed that any country joining military actions against Iran would face retaliation.
“If any country joins in the aggression against Iran … definitely, they will also be legitimate targets for Iran’s retaliation,” he warned.
The statement reflects Iran’s position that it would respond directly to any state it believes is participating in attacks against its territory or interests.
Iranian officials have repeatedly framed recent hostilities as external aggression, while Western governments and Israel have accused Tehran of actions that threaten regional stability.
Escalating Tensions in the Middle East
The deputy foreign minister’s remarks add to a growing series of warnings and diplomatic statements from various sides as tensions continue to rise across the Middle East.

International observers say the risk of escalation has increased as global powers and regional actors weigh their responses to ongoing developments.
Diplomats have also raised concerns that further military involvement by additional countries could significantly widen the scope of the conflict.
The warning to European governments highlights the delicate diplomatic situation facing international actors as they attempt to respond to unfolding events in the region.
Analysts note that European states have traditionally played roles in diplomatic negotiations involving Iran, including past efforts to address tensions related to security and regional stability.
As the situation continues to evolve, international organizations and political leaders have repeatedly called for restraint and renewed diplomatic engagement to prevent further escalation.
