Following journalist Azra Alam’s release after 40 days in Attock Jail, police reportedly raided her home again, detaining her father, brother, and uncles.
Family members of journalist Azra Alam have stated that police raided her home late last night, just days after her release following 40 days of detention in Attock Jail.
According to reports, the raid involved alleged violations of the sanctity of privacy and the home. Azra Alam was not present at the residence during the police action; however, authorities reportedly detained her father, Alam Hussain, her younger brother, Taimoor, and her uncles, Amir Hussain and Talib Hussain.
The incident has drawn serious concern regarding due process and the treatment of families. Observers noted that actions of this nature, carried out without verified evidence linking the journalist or her relatives to criminal activity, raise significant questions.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the reported raid, the reasons for detaining family members, or their current whereabouts and legal status.
