Zuljanah: The Symbol of Love and Loyalty in the Battle of Karbala

Zuljanah is not just a horse, but a symbol of the profound emotions and values that the Shia Muslims uphold to this day.

During the battle of Karbala, Zuljanah carried the banner and sword of Imam Hussein (AS) towards the tents and informed Bibi Zainab of Imam’s martyrdom. Bibi Zainab then went towards the site of the massacre where she witnessed the beheading of her brother Abbas.

After the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), Zuljanah himself also passed away in an extremely wounded state. The women of the Ahlulbayt faced many hardships after the Imam’s martyrdom, which people continue to mourn to this day.
