Students of University of Azad Kashmir Issue 12-Point Charter of Demands

Date:

Muzaffarabad: Students of the University of Azad Jammu Kashmir have presented a 12-point charter of demands to the administration, calling for legal action against those responsible for violence against students, the withdrawal of registered FIRs, and the establishment of a judicial commission, among other key demands.

The students have warned the administration that if their demands are not met by Monday, they will shut down educational institutions across Azad Kashmir and launch a protest movement.

According to a statement issued after a student assembly, the primary demand is for immediate legal action against those responsible for the violence against students at the university. The students emphasized that this issue cannot be ignored, and if justice is not served, protests will be inevitable.

Another significant demand in the charter is the withdrawal of FIRs filed against students. The students argue that innocent students are being harassed through false cases, which is unacceptable. In this regard, they have also demanded the formation of a judicial commission headed by the bar council and judiciary to conduct an independent and transparent investigation into the incidents at the university.

Additionally, the students have called for the establishment of an anti-harassment cell at the university to effectively address such issues and ensure a safe educational environment.

The students have made it clear that if their demands are not met by Monday, they will shut down all educational institutions across Azad Kashmir and initiate protests, holding the university administration fully responsible for the consequences.

This development highlights the growing unrest among students and their determination to fight for their rights and justice.
