The accused, identified as Nargis, is a Pakistani national with ties to the city of Jhelum.
According to police reports, the suspect would assume a false identity, disguising herself as a young man named Shaban. After arranging marriages, she would then attempt to smuggle the brides out of the country for illicit purposes.
The arrest follows a formal complaint filed by the family of one of the victims. The affected family, led by Chaudhry Ramadan, revealed that Nargis had assumed a fabricated identity and managed to arrange a marriage between their daughter and the fictitious character, Shaban.
