Hattian Bala: Inspector General of Azad Kashmir Police, Dr. Ameer Ahmad Sheikh, inaugurated the Police Service Center at the SP Office in Hattian Bala. The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Commissioner Muzaffarabad Masood ul Rehman, DIG Masood Kashfi, AIGP Crime Riaz Haider Bukhari, AIG P Security Kamran Ali, Deputy Commissioner Jhelum Valley Syed Fida Kazmi, SP Jhelum Valley Khurram Iqbal, SP Rangers Abdul Rasheed Mughal, along with other police officers, newly elected councillors, officials of the Association of Traders, journalists, and other political and social leaders.

Addressing the opening ceremony and speaking to journalists, Inspector General of Police Azad Kashmir, Dr. Ameer Ahmed Sheikh, emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards any police officer found supporting drug dealers, stating that they will face severe consequences, including the death penalty. He assured that all police stations are under close scrutiny, and the public has been provided with contact numbers for complaints against any police officer or employee. Additionally, he announced the launch of a weekly session, starting from Hattian Bala, where people can voice their concerns directly.

Responding to a query by the District Press Club Hattian Bala Secretary General Mubarak Hussain Awan, the IG Azad Kashmir announced a two-month ban on issuing challans for rickshaws and motorcycles in the Jhelum Valley district. He stressed that traffic rules should be enforced with compassion, and drug dealers should be closely monitored. He urged the public to report any suspicious activities and assured swift action against drug dealers. He encouraged reporting of any misconduct by policemen and introduced an online complaint system for ease.

Moreover, the IG Azad Kashmir instructed the immediate removal of all encroachments from markets to ensure smooth traffic flow. He emphasized the need for close monitoring of schools, colleges, and universities, stating that drug dealers often target young children. He urged the public to help identify such individuals through WhatsApp. Furthermore, he announced rewards for officials based on public feedback and revealed plans to activate peace committees district-wide, under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner and SP, with a one-week deadline for submission of a report.
