New Water Treatment Plant Inaugurated in Muzaffarabad to Address Capital’s Water Needs

Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu & Kashmir (Pakistan administered Kashmir) – In a significant development for the region’s water infrastructure, a new water treatment plant was inaugurated today in Makri on the Neelum River, promising to provide 10 million liters of clean drinking water daily to Muzaffarabad’s residents.

  • Beneficiaries: Over 400,000 residents of Muzaffarabad

Officials Hail Project as a Lifeline for Muzaffarabad

The plant is expected to alleviate chronic water shortages in the capital, where supply disruptions and contamination issues have long plagued residents.

Speaking at the inauguration, AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq emphasized the government’s commitment to improving public utilities, stating:
“This plant is a crucial step toward ensuring clean and reliable water for Muzaffarabad. We will continue investing in infrastructure to meet the growing needs of our people.”
