Chakswari February 10, 2023: The 40th anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam Kashmir Muhammad Maqbool Butt will be observed grandly in Chaksawari on February 11.

This year, all the nationalist parties of Jammu and Kashmir are going to celebrate the anniversary of Muhammad Maqbool Butt Shaheed as Youm-e-Tajdeed-e-Ahd (Day of Renewal of Pledge) jointly.

A rally will be taken out from Hamidabad Colony in Chakswari at 10:30 am, which will conclude at Colony Chowk after going round the market. A condolence ceremony will be held there.

All the people of Chakswari, Pind Khurd, Faizpur Sharif, Panyam, Kanial, Rarah, Gond, Chowk Sahiban, Pirai, and Jiraie are requested to participate in the anniversary of Muhammad Maqbool Butt Shaheed to be held in Chak Sawari on February 11 and give proof of being a living nation.

Background

Muhammad Maqbool Butt was a Kashmiri nationalist who was hanged by the Indian government in 1984 for his role in the struggle for the independence of Kashmir. He is considered a martyr by many Kashmiris and his anniversary is observed as a day of mourning and remembrance.

Youm-e-Tajdeed-e-Ahd

The decision to observe the 40th anniversary of Muhammad Maqbool Butt Shaheed as Youm-e-Tajdeed-e-Ahd was taken by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) in a meeting held on January 25.
