MUZAFFARABAD — The Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JKJAAC) has alleged that security forces carried out raids on businesses and residential areas, causing damage to private property and violating the rights of civilians in parts of Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
In a statement published on social media, JKJAAC core member Umar Nazir Kashmiri accused authorities of using force against peaceful citizens and claimed that shops belonging to local traders had been broken into, with food items, jewelry, and cash reportedly taken during operations.
The allegations emerge amid growing tensions surrounding the rights movement in the region and calls for public mobilization ahead of planned demonstrations in Muzaffarabad.
According to the statement, the group’s dispute with the ruling authorities stems from what it describes as long-standing concerns over governance, resource allocation, and economic rights.
