Srinagar International Airport Lifts Evening Flight Restrictions, Restores Normal Operations

SRINAGAR — Srinagar International Airport has lifted restrictions on its operational hours, allowing flight operations to resume after 5:00 PM, airport authorities announced.

Previously, the airport’s operational timing was restricted from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM due to operational reasons, causing difficulties for travelers, local businesses, and students. With the removal of this restriction, flights can now be scheduled beyond the evening cutoff based on operational requirements.

An airport spokesperson stated that the winter schedule for 2026 will come into effect on October 25, 2026. Airlines are currently in the process of filing slots for evening flights departing from Srinagar, a move expected to improve connectivity during the winter months and enhance passenger convenience.

According to sources, the restoration of evening flights is anticipated to strengthen connectivity with major cities, including New Delhi and Jammu. It is also expected to help ease pressure caused by frequent weather-related flight cancellations during the winter season.

Authorities have advised passengers to verify the latest flight statuses and timings with their respective airlines before heading to the airport. The lifting of the operational limit is also expected to provide a boost to local tourism, trade, and students traveling outside the region.
