Srinagar: All Parties Hurriyat Conference Raises Concerns Over Illegal Detentions in Indian-Administered Jammu and Kashmir

SRINAGAR: (Azadi Times) In a strong statement issued today, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, operating under Indian occupation in Jammu and Kashmir, has raised its voice against the unlawful detention of freedom leaders and activists in various jails across the region.

According to reports from Kashmir Media Service, the spokesperson and other Hurriyat leaders, including Advocate Arshad Iqbal, Farooq Toheed, Muhammad Saleem Zargar, Imtiaz Reshi, and Muhammad Aqib, expressed deep concern over the deteriorating human rights situation in occupied Kashmir and condemned the continuous violation of human rights by Indian military forces.

They noted that the entire Jammu and Kashmir region has been turned into a large prison where people’s fundamental rights are being violated through repressive measures and the suppression of voices.

They called upon the international community and human rights organizations to take notice of the ground realities in the occupied region and urged them to dispatch their fact-finding teams to Kashmir.

The freedom leaders appealed to human rights organizations to take note of the dire conditions of Kashmiri political detainees in jails and put pressure on India for their immediate release. They also highlighted the fake encounters and extrajudicial killings of Kashmiri youth by Indian forces in the Shopian district, categorizing these events as the worst form of state-sponsored terrorism.

The Hurriyat spokesperson also condemned the Israeli aggression and terrorism in the Middle East, stating that the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine is a result of Israel’s settler-colonial policies.

He emphasized that the Zionist government has forcibly occupied Palestinian territories and carried out atrocities, including mass killings of Palestinians, demolition of their homes, and seizure of their lands. He stated that the situation in the Middle East is a direct consequence of Israel’s policies and actions.

The spokesperson called for international intervention to address the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and emphasized the need for a just resolution that respects the rights of the Palestinian people. He criticized the silence of the international community on the prolonged suffering of the Palestinian population.

These statements come at a time when the world is witnessing the escalating tensions between Israel and Palestine, with both sides engaging in hostilities.
