Meteorological department forecasts generally dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir with a brief spell of gusty winds and thunder in isolated areas over the coming days.

SRINAGAR — Following recent light rains and snowfall, night temperatures across Jammu and Kashmir have experienced a gradual decline, while daytime warmth remains largely consistent.

The Meteorological Department has reported that weather conditions are expected to remain predominantly dry across the region in the coming days, though isolated areas may witness brief spells of rain accompanied by thunder.

According to the regional meteorological center, current weather patterns are generally favorable for outdoor activities and harvesting. However, authorities have issued an advisory for the next 24 hours warning of isolated thunder, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour in certain localities, which could temporarily disrupt routine activities.

The extended five-day forecast indicates no major weather warnings for the region, with expected precipitation remaining localized and minimal. Weather conditions are anticipated to stay mostly dry through September 12.

A slight shift is projected between September 13 and 15, during which scattered rain showers may occur in some areas, particularly during early morning and afternoon hours. The forecast for September 16 to 18 points toward a return to predominantly dry conditions across the region.
