Dr. Hameed, an instructor at Isma Academy in Gadhi Dupatta, Rawalakot, tragically succumbed to a sudden heart attack on January 11, 2025, just as he was about to complete his Ph.D. studies. The 28-year-old, who had recently been appointed to a significant government position at Scale 17 on August 28, 2024, was a rising star not only in academia but also in the local cricket scene. His untimely death has sent shockwaves through his family, friends, and the wider community of Rawalakot.

A Day That Changed Everything

The incident occurred during a friendly match between the Young Cricket Club and Nasim Shahin Thorad, held at the Small Galla Ground, Rawalakot. Dr. Hameed, the captain of the Young Cricket Club, was in the midst of the game, running for a second run when he suddenly collapsed due to a fatal heart attack. Despite efforts to revive him, Dr. Hameed passed away at the scene, leaving the players and spectators in shock and grief.

He was known for his enthusiasm for both his profession and his love for cricket. His tragic passing, while doing what he loved, has been described as a “freak accident” by those who knew him.

A Life Cut Short: A Bright Future Unfulfilled
