Muzaffarabad: Despite a strict ban imposed by the President of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, illegal extraction of minor minerals such as sand and gravel continues unchecked at Shoran in the Chowki Bararkot region. Law enforcement agencies have completely failed to curb these unlawful activities, raising serious concerns about the state’s authority and governance.

According to sources, the extraction of minor minerals is being carried out on a large scale, inflicting heavy financial losses on the state treasury. Despite clear directives from the President to halt such activities, influential elements remain engaged in exploiting state resources for personal gains.

The continuous violation of state laws and the government’s failure to enforce its writ have raised serious questions about the efficacy of law enforcement agencies. Concerned citizens have strongly urged the Prime Minister of AJK to take immediate action against those involved in this illegal mineral extraction and ensure strict measures to protect the state’s resources and national treasury.

The unchecked looting of natural resources not only undermines state authority but also deprives the region of valuable revenues that could otherwise be utilized for public welfare and development. Citizens demand that the government enforce its ban with full force and hold those responsible for violating state orders accountable without exception.
