Chief Election Commissioner Azad Jammu and Kashmir Justice Retired Abdul Rasheed Salharia said that the turnout during the local elections in Azad Kashmir after three and a half years was exemplary, the local elections held after 31 years.
It was the most peaceful election in the history of Azad Kashmir, which goes to the credit of all the stakeholders. He said that the government of Azad Kashmir, especially the Chief Secretary, IG, Commissioners, DIGs, and DCs, are doing their best to maintain peace and order.
Pak Army, Judicial Officers, Punjab Police FC, KP Police Civil Servants, Azad Kashmir Police, Administrative Officers conscious and responsible citizens of the Azad region played their key roles.
Chief Election Commissioner Azad Jammu and Kashmir said that the media and information department played an important role in highlighting the importance of voting and encouraging people to exercise their right to vote peacefully through a wonderful campaign regarding local body elections.
