Local sources claim that one of the individuals may have triggered an explosive device, though authorities have not confirmed the exact cause of the blast. The AJK Police have yet to release an official statement, and the area has since been sealed off for investigation.
Zarnosh was reportedly known in the local community and had been facing issues with the police in recent weeks. However, no formal terrorism charges had been filed against him at the time of the incident.
Later the same evening, tragedy struck again when a police vehicle met with an accident near Lasdana in Bagh district. Five more AJK police personnel were killed in that incident, compounding a dark day for the region’s security forces.
AJK officials have urged the media and public to refrain from speculation and await the findings of the official investigation. The authorities have also emphasized the importance of handling such incidents with care to maintain peace in the region.
