AJK Election Commission Explores Implementation of Computerized Electoral Roll System

Muzaffarabad (Azadi Times): In a recent meeting convened under the leadership of Secretary Muhammad Ghazanfar Khan, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Election Commission delved into discussions regarding the deployment of a computerized electoral roll system.

The session, attended by key stakeholders including Dr. Khalid Rafique, Director General of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Information Technology Board, and Raja Rashid Mahmood, the Election Commissioner, aimed to assess the progress and potential implications of the proposed initiative.

Among the focal points of the meeting was a comprehensive review of the proposal submitted by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) for the provision of a computerized electoral roll system. Deliberations centered on evaluating the legal intricacies of the proposed agreement between the AJK Election Commission, the Information Technology Board, and NADRA.

During the proceedings, participants engaged in constructive dialogue to address various aspects of the implementation plan, ensuring meticulous consideration of all pertinent factors. It was unanimously agreed upon that a final draft of the agreement would be meticulously crafted in the ensuing week, with subsequent submission for approval from the relevant authorities.

Secretary Khan extended gratitude to all attendees for their active participation and invaluable contributions toward advancing the electoral infrastructure of AJK.

The deliberations underscored the commitment of the Election Commission and its collaborators to modernize electoral processes, fostering greater efficiency, transparency, and integrity in the democratic framework of the region.
