AJK Government Implements Ban on Violence in Schools and Smoking in Public Places

Date:

MUZAFFARABAD: (Azadi Times) January 3, 2023 – In a significant move aimed at enhancing public safety and health standards, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has announced a series of bans and regulations.

A notification issued today declared a comprehensive ban on violence in all educational institutions, including madrasas. This step is part of a broader initiative to protect students and ensure a safe learning environment. To bolster this effort, the government has mandated the installation of CCTV cameras in all educational facilities, enhancing security and monitoring capabilities.

In addition to these measures, the notification emphasized the need for improved sanitation and facilities in educational institutions, hospitals, madrasas, and public offices. Institutions are required to provide standard washroom amenities and maintain high standards of cleanliness. Special attention is to be given to the effective cleaning and maintenance of water storage tanks, with a specialized checking and monitoring mechanism to be adopted annually.
