The fact that the student leader was not granted bail and was instead forced to appear for the exam in handcuffs is a stark reminder of the restrictions on freedom and expression in Pakistan-administered Kashmir. This incident has exposed the hypocrisy of Pakistan’s claims of supporting Kashmiri freedom, while in reality, suppressing the voices of those who dare to speak out.

The Jammu Kashmir National Student Federation has been actively campaigning for the release of their leader, with protests and demonstrations taking place across various cities in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

As the international community watches, it is imperative that Pakistan is held accountable for its actions and ensures that the fundamental rights of Kashmiris are respected and protected.
