The expression of solidarity is the expression of sympathy. We want to open a ‘channel of discussion’ between all stakeholders on the Kashmir issue so that this issue can be resolved through diplomacy. The voice of Kashmiris will be conveyed to the Islamic world and the international community will also be taken on board in this regard. Kashmir is a part of OIC and it is our responsibility to resolve the Kashmir issue peacefully and according to the wishes of Kashmiris.

These views were expressed by the OIC Secretary General while talking to the media after meeting the President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry and the Prime Minister of the Independent State of Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan at the President’s House in Muzaffarabad.

On this occasion, Federal Adviser on Kashmir Affairs Qamar-ul-Zaman Kaira, Ambassador Saleh Hamad Al-Subhani Saudi Arabia, Ambassador Shaheen Abdullah Abdullawi Azerbaijan, Ambassador Muhant Mutinkar Turkey, Ambassador Dai Ali Nigeria, Ambassador Suf Al-Dubdawi, Ambassador Ahmed Sarir, Ambassador Oscar, Mr. Mansoor, Hamal Imani, Muhammad Atif, Waqas Latif, Minister of Azad Kashmir SDMA Chaudhry Muhammad Akbar Ibrahim, Chief Secretary of Azad Jammu and Kashmir State Muhammad Usman Chacha and others were also present. The Secretary General of OIC said that today we visited the LoC and have also met the victims of the Indian Army’s aggression there in order to review the situation and take steps towards solving this problem.

He said that the world needs to be told more about human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir. Answering a question, the Secretary-General said that being the representative of Islamic countries, it is our responsibility to highlight the Kashmir issue and solve it. We will solve this problem together with friendly countries so that peace and order can be established in the region. He said that we have asked all the member countries to take a better decision for a lasting solution to the Kashmir problem and instead of talking Believe in action.
