Pathyali Project: Azad Kashmir’s Planning Minister Oversees Launch of 500KV Initiative

Muzaffarabad (Azadi Times Latest – March 19, 2024): Azad Kashmir’s Minister for Planning, Development, and Energy, Chaudhry Rasheed, has announced the commencement of the 500 kV Pathyali project under the supervision of the Azad Jammu Kashmir Planning and Development Department.

He emphasized that eliminating darkness from the state is a paramount goal of the current government, and steps are being taken to realize this ambition.

These remarks were made during a conversation with prominent Kashmiri political and social leader, contractor Sabir Mughal. Minister Rasheed highlighted the potential of Azad Kashmir to harness electricity from natural resources, which will contribute to the production of affordable electricity.

Addressing the issue of climate change, Minister Rasheed underscored the importance of increasing the electricity supply while conserving forests. He also mentioned several planned industrial projects and encouraged investment in Azad Kashmir, emphasizing the region’s potential for both tourism and hydroelectric power generation.

Minister Rasheed noted the completion of one phase of the Jagaran project and the ongoing expansion of its second phase, which is expected to significantly enhance power supply.

Furthermore, Minister Rasheed stressed the necessity of improving the electricity distribution system in tandem with increasing electricity production. He emphasized the importance of enforcing regulations to achieve this objective.

Regarding governance, Minister Rasheed expressed confidence in the Azad Kashmir government’s progress, asserting that the era of corruption is over. He affirmed that such unethical practices will not find a place in the region’s future political landscape.
